From lace and coal to a well-connected county

Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands, had an estimated 1,188,090 people in 2024, and the River Trent cuts across it on a broad valley from south-west to north-east. Nottingham, the largest settlement, sits in the busy south-west, ringed by towns such as Arnold, Beeston, Carlton, Hucknall and West Bridgford. Mansfield is the second-largest place. Worksop, Retford and Newark-on-Trent are market towns with long histories, and Sherwood Forest fills the centre.

For generations the county lived on manufacturing and on the coal pits of the Leen Valley, and William Lee's knitting frame made Nottingham famous for lace. Today it is easy to reach. The Midland Main Line runs through Nottingham, the East Coast Main Line serves Newark and Retford, the M1 crosses the county, and East Midlands Airport is just over the border. Nottingham also has its own tram network.

Good connections mean wider competition. A Mansfield trades firm, a Newark retailer and a Nottingham consultancy can each win customers from far afield, but rivals can reach theirs just as easily. The website is where buyers compare. We work with businesses across Nottinghamshire remotely, over video calls, email, phone or WhatsApp.
