Tourism, shipbuilding and nuclear in one county

Cumbria covers a huge, mostly rural stretch of North West England, yet only about half a million people live in it: 510,680 by the 2024 estimate. Carlisle, in the north, is the largest settlement. Workington and Whitehaven face the Irish Sea, Barrow-in-Furness sits on the southern coast, and Penrith and Kendal serve the east.

Tourism is the industry that reaches furthest. Tens of millions of visits are made to the county each year, many of them to the Lake District National Park, and tens of thousands of Cumbrians work in tourism. Guests come from across Britain and Europe, and from as far as North America and Japan. Two large employers anchor the west and south: BAE Systems in Barrow and the Sellafield nuclear site, each with thousands of staff.

That gives two very different kinds of website. A guest house, outdoor guide or café needs photos, prices and a simple way to book. An engineering supplier or contractor serving Barrow or Sellafield needs to show its capability, approvals and record. We work with businesses across Cumbria remotely and agree meeting times that fit around your season.
