Samsung laptops discounted ahead of back-to-school season

Need a new computer for back to school or any other reason? Samsung has launched a sale that lasts until July 28th, and it might have what you’re looking for. We’re seeing some decent savings on a few of Samsung’s recent laptops. But that’s not all. Its Windows Mixed Reality headset is cheaper now, as are a bunch of TVs and other products.

Starting with a laptop that’s best for those who most often spend time on social media, YouTube, or working on documents, the Samsung Chromebook Plus, pictured up top, is now $399 (usually $499).

Loaded with Google’s Chrome OS with support for Android apps (and a built-in pen to take notes on the screen), Samsung’s well-built 2-in-1 Chromebook offers the best of a laptop and tablet without stranding you too far on either end. Laptops running Chrome OS remain a safer bet than tablets for now, too.

Similarly versatile is the Samsung Notebook 9 Spin 13.3-inch laptop, which is now discounted $300 to bring the price down to a more palatable $1,099. This isn’t the most affordable 2-in-1 Windows 10 machine out there, and it has some of the Notebook 9 Pro’s same design annoyances, like a power button that’s too close to the microSD slot. Despite this, it’s a solid value based on its specs and a bright LED display that outputs at 3200 x 1800 resolution. Keep in mind that this computer’s integrated graphics can’t play games at its native display resolution. Movies, on the other hand, should look glorious.

If gaming is something you see yourself doing a lot of, you might want to consider Samsung’s Notebook Odyssey over the Spin. It’s going to be more proficient at the task. Equipped with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 and a high-end Intel Core i7 processor (albeit from the last generation of chips), this machine can play through most of today’s popular PC games without too much in the way of compromises.

The Odyssey goes toe-to-toe with other gaming laptops in terms of design, but it claims to speed ahead with its 10.5-hour battery life. This model is now $1,199, which is $400 off of its usual price.
